Storage & Long Term Care: Preserve the Fit

Superspace’s bamboo frames are lightweight but naturally flexible. Over time, especially with frequent use or loose stacking, they may begin to curve slightly. This soft bend isn’t a defect—it’s just how bamboo behaves—but it can affect how precisely the magnetic panels align. To minimize this:

  • Always stack panels neatly with edges aligned

  • Avoid leaning them loosely against a wall or storing in high humidity

  • If bending occurs, gently flatten panels under a weighted surface overnight

You may also notice that the cylindrical magnets occasionally become “polarized” or flipped, meaning they resist rather than attract. This is normal with strong magnets and can usually be fixed by:

  • Gently rotating the magnet until it clicks into the correct polarity

  • Pressing the panel flush against another to reset its magnetic orientation

  • For persistent misalignment, lightly tapping the edges can help realign internal magnets

With a bit of regular care and attention to storage, Superspace panels will keep performing (and sticking) like new—even after years of classroom creativity.

Superspace is designed to stand up to daily use—and all the mess that comes with it. Most spills, including paint, food, or marker smudges, can be cleaned with just mild soap and warm water. For routine disinfecting, we recommend using a gentle spray cleaner (alcohol-free and plastic-safe) and a soft cloth or sponge.

Because the embedded magnets are quite strong, they’ll sometimes pick up grit, metal shavings, or other debris from the floor. This can scratch the plastic surfaces or cause buildup at the edges, especially in high-use areas. To avoid this:

  • Wipe down all magnetic contact points regularly

  • Check for buildup along edges and gently clear with a damp cloth

  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scrubbers on the surface

Keeping the magnetic surfaces clean will also help maintain a solid connection between panels, especially when used frequently or for larger structures.
